Medical Stuff

This morning Zai was not feeling well, she was in pain and had symptoms I won’t mention here.  I went to work and received a text that she was getting worse.  I ordered her to call the doctor, and she set off to find her insurance card.  She sends me another text saying it looked like her insurance lapsed.  She had assumed her insurance covered her through November… and that’s a dangerous assumption to make.

As it turned out, it was open enrollment time at work, so I added her to the insurance.  I then spent a little time on the phone to make sure she was covered immediately.  Luckily, my plan covered ‘change of life’ changes to the insurance policy, which allowed me to add her to my insurance effective the day her insurance lapsed, if it’s done within sixty days.

We were on dy fifty-eight.

Again, assuming you have insurance is a dangerous assumption.

I left work early and took Zai to the doctor.  Luckily, it ended up being pretty minor, and she was sent off with some antibiotics.  It’s good when something you think is serious turns out to be nothing, I had been nervous all morning, and am now finally able to relax.

Zel-kun out.

In a strange way, it makes me feel good when you worry about me. It shows me how much you care. =)

Whew! Glad it was nothing serious. You do the cooking tonight, Zel, and let Zai prop her feet up and rest.

He should have…but he didn’t! Seriously though, I was okay. I wasn’t in a lot of pain, just constant discomfort. And Zel was exhausted from the stress and worry of getting everything with the insurance taken care of and then rushing me to the doctor that he just kinda passed out on the sofa when we got home. I was feeling loads better just knowing all I needed were antibiotics and not a trip to the hospital (what I was originally fearing) so I had no problem cooking dinner =)

Glad you’re feeling better and I sympathize with Zel’s pains for having to interface with a health plan organization in a panic. Sad to say, but it passes for satiric comedy of modern times. My …
