My friend Paul and his wife are having a baby. Now, as frightening a concept as that is, I wish them the best. Paul is one of the best guys around, and I’m sure the child will grow up in a loving environment.
This has the unfortunate side-effect of taking up all of Michelle’s (Paul’s wife) time, which means she no longer has time to play World of Warcraft. This hit home last night when I log on, and find over a hundred in-game mails from her characters. She was deleting her account, and sending all of her possessions to me.
It was sad, symbolic in a way. I think of a beneficiary who has the sorrowful task of deciding what to do with a deceased friend’s belongings.
Goodbye Michelle, the Knights of Arenelia will miss you.

Yeh, parenthood does have a habit of interfering with fun sometimes…

It really was sad. But admittedly, baby would take up so much time that Michelle will have to give up a lot of her pastimes. I think that is the main reason I wouldn’t want to have children anytime in the near future: I don’t want to have to give up the life I’m living now. A baby changes your life completely. But as I know she’s wanted to have a baby for a long time now, I’m happy for her even if we did lose a guildmate. Maybe when lil’ Paul the 3rd is 4 years old and ready to create his character, she can start up a new one with him! =P
But now with exception of Mel (who never plays anymore) I’m the only girl (I think) in the guild!!! =*(

Oh? she and mike joined after all?! I thought they still hadn’t decided. Oopsie! Sorry, but when I checked the guild list last night, I was really only checking to see if Michelle really did delete all HER characters. I didn’t keep an eye out for new names! =P
