I have trouble with blood, too. I never used to until the last time I gave blood went really badly (probabyl cos I missed breakfast, but it HURT, too) and now I feel all flinchy about it.

Anyway, man, guess there are worse things than parents that never took you to the doctor or dentist... parents that did it too much!

Only poorly trained nurses have trouble taking blood. The day I stopped fearing needles was when a genuine, practiced phlebotomist drew my blood for a test. First try, was quick and painless.. I realized that needlework didn't -have- to hurt. Ever since then, my new relaxed state has assisted the less skilled get their job done more easily and less painfully.

Point in one word: Relax!

I still cringe when I get my blood taken...but that's because they usually gotta poke me with the needle about 4 or 5 times before they can get blood out of me. I swear, every nurse I ever had has an IMPOSSIBLE time finding that vein, and they've often had to take the blood out of my hand which ends up being more painful than when they actually draw blood from my arm. But then again, I'm just weird.
