Pirates

I went and saw Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest yesterday.  It was actually pretty decent, though a little long.  Most movies are a bit too long in my mind.  By the time I hit the hour and a half mark, I start glancing at my watch.  Even the best movies have me wondering just how much longer I need to sit still and stare at a screen.

** For those of you that care, there may be a minor spoiler in your future **

What irritates me is that it was two and a half hours long, and yet they couldn’t give me an ending.  I’m all about movies and sequels, but it needs to be done right.  The whole point of me shelling out money for movie tickets is so I can watch a story.  If that story is incomplete, I feel like I was taken.  I think of Back to the Future, one of my all time favorite movies, which while it ended with a ‘To Be Continued…’ it had an ending.  I watched the movie, I saw exposition, climax, and resolution.  Without all three elements, you only have half a movie.  A movie that suddenly stops without any sort of resolution is scarcely a movie at all.

But then, the movie was made by Disney… I should expect such things.

In other news, today is not my day for technology.  I had to help my stepdad work on the pool, so I jumped in… with my damn cell phone in my pocket.  So now its drying out, maybe if I’m really lucky it’ll work again, but I’m not really hopeful.  So lesson learned… I guess.

The video card on my computer seems to be dying, WoW makes it lock up fairly often.  I’m going to get some new drivers, I’m slightly more hopeful for that than I am for my cell phone.

And finally, last but certainly not least, I was using this sprite generator (a hobby of mine is making an RPG with RPG maker), and I made the mistake of running the updator.  This went ahead and corrupted every file, folder, and sub-folder on my desktop.  Fortunately, I keep all my important stuff on a backup drive, but the inconvenience of restoring pisses me off something fierce.

I’m still playing Dragon Quest, its become an obsession to build levels to take on ‘The Dragovian Trials.’  After so much time invested in the game, I can’t walk away now, I need my 100% completion.  Some people are alcoholics, I’m a completion… holic… I’m just going to stop there.

Zel-kun out.
